Feline Wisdom

I guess I am doing fine
In the company of a feline
While I nurse an ache of yore
That refuses to leave without a sore
I had seen days that were much worse
But now enlightened to have no remorse
With consciousness not drifting away from the now
Amidst past and future immune feline’s unmistakable love

Work Mantra

It is great to be on a job
And not to be labeled a slob
Doing the daily chores without a care
Treading in places where eagles dare
I want my days to be thoroughly used up
Before I can finally hang my boots up

Good is God

What is good is God
If good is alive, so is God
A God we fail to recognize or see
A God in you and a God in me
As long as I am good to your God, and you to mine,
The World need not be bereft of a force divine
As long as our belief in the God within does not cease,
We will find solace in the power of inner peace.

Breathe

Breathe, deep and slow,
Feel the rhythm of air flow,
Sets the mind without fear,
Leaves anger in a seat rear,
Believe it or not, it comes with a fee,
We pay with aging from radicals free,
When we breathe deep, every breath we save,
It extends the journey from cradle to grave.

Free spirited and childlike

Free spirited and childlike, floating in serene space,
Clean blue sea like, reflecting sun rays in subtle gaze,
Laugh that lingers for years, never losing its quiet grace,
Flowers and greens around you, never failing to amaze,
The moment that stands still, breeze very soft on your face,
Life in slow motion, every detail magnified in the mind maze,
Enjoy the epitome of true joy, revel in the child devoid of life’s race.

My Mouse is autopilot

My mouse is autopilot, has a life of its own,
It clicks all over Google, but stops at two of Os countdown,
Reminding us that Google requires only two Os as its own.
It devours anything with download written on its face without a frown,
But stays clear of shady and disguised characters who smell of con,
It loves the videos on YouTube, but gets irritated at the sight of a clown,
It follows anything that resembles a human like a pup lost in town,
But it hardly ever clicks on a banner or an ad, be it up or down.

Life lost and found

As I was riding on a carved out road of the hills,
Letting the chilled breeze cleanse the scars of yesterday.
My mind was pondering over the roads of perils,
That I rode with aplomb maneuvering every highway.
Completely oblivious of vehicular monsters and devils,
That whizzed past me, potential killers if gone astray.
Akin to the roads of life that I led, life on bitter pills,
Squandered away in search of an elusive success way.
Little did I know that the quiet hills would nurture buried skills,
Allowing me to start afresh before I turn completely gray.

Family of Three

I, my better half and the apple of my eye,
Make a family of three, always on a high,

Taking every day as it comes in our stride,
Doing things in which we constantly take pride,

Together, we can weather any storm,
Leaving behind footsteps without any norm,

We love our lives, and live in the now,
And say to the world, until we meet again, ciao.

Kiss of the Cloud

The mountains stood proud,
As the cloud wrapped in a shroud,

The greens of tea plants formed a crowd,
But soon faded behind the cover of cloud,

The wind brewed up a storm, threatening to go loud,
Eucalyptus trees faced the onslaught with heads bowed,

Rain clouds looming over the horizon, had mortals cowed,
The advent of inauspicious days, set gloom with minds roved.

Beauteous hills that deprived citizens and romantics wowed,
Had the serenity in the mountains, disturbed by kiss of the cloud

The Premature Wedding Night

Sex cannot make a poet out of you,
Or so I thought, until I met Sue,
It took a while to bring her to woo,
But in the end, she had to say I do.
On the fateful night as I prepared myself, so I do not get a boo,
She showed up in her gown, pounced like a tiger from the zoo.
I was so excited, I almost forgot that I am a Jew,
And the fateful happened, when I had to go to the loo.
